Welcome to this week’s brief Dreamers Newsletter
I hope everyone had a good evening at the Club last Sunday. We had to miss it because we had visitors so the sunshine was a great bonus. It’s another Singers Night this coming Sunday and the following one (7th June) before our next guests, the Anna Anise Trio on 14th June.
We also had the May edition of the Cornish Zoom Folk Club last weekend, smaller numbers than usual with several clashing events. Next one is Saturday 27th June.
Some of us had an excellent evening at Penzance Folk Club on Wednesday in memory of Peter Wray. George Chippendale had organised a line-up of excellent performers including Alistair and Lynn as well as Baldricks Plan who will be familiar to Dreamers. Not to mention some of the largest pasties I’ve ever seen!
Super-saver tickets for the Cornwall Festival at Wadebridge at the end of August are still available but only until May 31st. There’s a long line-up of performers now detailed for the Saturday, many of them local talent. https://cornwallfolkfestival.com/
And finally for this week, I’m reminded that the St Ives Summer Festival starts on 12th September this year. It’s not all folk music but The Oggymen kick it off on the Saturday night. Among many other attractions, there’s an appearance from Pam Ayres (on 24th September). Not to mention all the art studios open. Sounds like a great way to spend a day or more. Details and tickets at Home – St Ives September Festival 2026
Not much by way of other news so that’s it for this week. Hope to see you on Sunday evening at Dreamers.
All the best
Nigel
