Welcome to this week’s Dreamers Newsletter
The last singers night proper of 2025 was another success last Sunday with plenty of performers and some excellent material, some of it seasonal as we approach Christmas and the end of the year. Whilst we’ve had a few Sunday nights during 2025 when numbers have been disappointing, they have been far outnumbered by those with a good turn-out of regulars and a good number of visitors from afar. We’ve also had some excellent guests so thanks to Jonathan for all his work is booking them – because my email address is in the public domain, I get a fair few approaches from people looking for bookings. I pass these straight on but I can see it’s far from easy to choose those of most appeal to Dreamers (and who we can afford!) and that many of those offering their performances have to be disappointed.
On to our Christmas Party night this Sunday, 14th December. The buffet food will be available from 6.00 if you’ve paid for that and we’ll then have the usual mix of sketches and regular singers, no doubt mostly with the time of the year in mind. All welcome – it should be a great evening. And then the final Dreamers night of the year with seasonal songs and offerings on 21st December before we close down until 2026 when Baldricks Plan will help us welcome in the New Year on 4th January.
The Cornish Zoom Folk Club will go ahead on its usual 4th Saturday which is December 27th. We usually get a good turn-out for that too even if it is close to Christmas with all the other things going on. Again, all welcome – the invitation will probably go out earlier than usual this time.
