We had a good evening again at the Club on Sunday – fortunately the worst of Storm Darragh had moved on so a good number of regulars were able to make it and we were spared the “applause” from the skylight. Some unfortunately not well so best wishes to them and hope to see you back soon. It was also good to see the list of guests who Jonathan has managed to book for next year for us to look forward to.
On now to Christmas with the Club Dinner this Sunday, aiming to sit down at 6.00 so please try to be there in good time for that. Followed by the Christmas review for those who want to perform something out of the ordinary (by no means compulsory!). Should be a good evening and then, on Sunday 22nd December , there’s an evening of seasonal songs to look forward to.
Plenty of other things going on of course. On Thursday 19th, Wadebridge Folk Clubwill meet for a Christmas bash with a 7pm start, free with a hot drink (Bring your own soft and alcoholic drinks as necessary) but also BUT ALSO bring some food to share for the feast. At their usual venue, the NT café at Pentireglaze.

Too much to include everything but one not to be missed is next Thursday, 19th December when Eliza Carthy is joined by an illustrious band of her friends and family for an evening of seasonal joy! Eliza, her cousin Marry Waterson and their friends Jon Boden and Emily Portman will turn the Howard Assembly Room in Leeds into a cosy Christmas living room party.
