Dreamers newsletter 8th June 2023

Posted By dreamersfolk on Jun 8, 2023

Hello and welcome to this week’s Dreamer’s Newsletter, just a short one.

Another good night last Sunday, as always lots of good songs and choruses and lots of humour, enjoyed by all. We move on now to our next guests, this coming Sunday, Na Mara, coming from St Albans but with strong celtic links as described in last week’s Newsletter. This should be a great evening for the Club, certainly one to look forward to.

The following weekend, we have the Falmouth Shanty Festival, of course, with a bewildering array of Shanty crews in venues all over the Town. It’s always a great weekend but ideal if the weather stays fair. All the details can be found at https://www.falmouthseashanty.co.uk/ (which seems to have a new interactive section!). If we are lucky some of the participants will stay on and come to Dreamers on the Sunday night.

I’ve had a very early heads up about a concert at Boscastle Village Hall on Saturday October 28th at 7.30pm featuring Phil Beer. It’s a long way to go for most of us but should you plan to be up that way, tickets are apparently going fast – https://snappytickets.co.uk/events/phil-beer-boscastle-village-hall/

With all the summer Festivals and other activity, there’s much less on line at the moment but Rosslyn court continues, tonight (8th June) featuring Sally Ironmonger & Brian Carter, Tony & Lesley Petty. Two highly respected duos, coming together to produce rich vocal harmonies with expert musicianship. It’s folk, but not as we know it. The first hour of concerts is livestreamed on YouTube. You can watch it any time after 7.30 on the night of the concert. Rosslyn Court, Margate Events & Tickets 2023 | Ents24

That’s all for this week, hope to see you on Sunday
