Sunday 20th Feb was our third Sunday back as a live folk club and though numbers were low because of the very high winds, we were bolstered by the arrival of Baldricks Plan, who have added to their number with the addition of Helen on vocals, fiddle and recorder. Jinks, Steve & Peter were already fine exponents of traditional song & shanty but have made a great decision to include Helen, giving their sound another level of harmony & at a stroke doubling their instrumentation.
Our regular floor singers gave us some wonderful chorus songs, a particular favourite was Ben Langs rendition of “Rolling Down to Old Maui” a whaling song from the days of sail in Hawaii. A good evening of song and poetry.
Roger B is recovering well from his recent op and he & Gaye are aiming to return to Dreamers Folk next Sunday and send thanks to everyone for their kind wishes for Rogers speedy recovery.
