Dreamers newsletter 19th March 2026

Posted By dreamersfolk on Mar 20, 2026

Welcome to this week’s slightly short Dreamers Newsletter.

First of all, many thanks to Lynn for a great evening last Sunday and to Jim, making up “No Riff Raff” when he joined her for a very different second half.  A very varied evening which seemed to be hugely enjoyed by all. Thanks too to the Penzance regulars who joined us for the session. Lynn is, of course, a regular at Dreamers now but also at Penzance Folk Club so that’s another reason to look forward to exchange visits with them if that can be arranged. Penzance F/C meets every other Wednesday in the Bath Inn, next date 25th March

We now have singers nights to look forward to for the next few weeks before our next guests, Scolds Bridle on 19th April. More of them nearer the time but, before then, we have the planned visit to Bodmin Folk Club on Friday 10th April. Let’s hope we can manage a good turnout of Dreamers – it would be helpful if you could let Jonathan know if you plan to come and if you would like to join or offer a car share.

For those who have been asking about funeral arrangements, this is to advise that Roger Bryant asked for an unattended cremation (as Gaye did). I am sure there will be an opportunity to get together at a later date to celebrate and remember our friend.

Online, Live to your Living Room has a special night this Sunday (clashing with Dreamers, of course, but ticketholders can watch for 72 hours afterwards ). Its a hybrid gig, hosted in partnership with Live At Sam’s in Sheffield and features legendary folk musician Steve Knightley as he performs his beautiful new show “Sanctuary: Songs in Sacred Spaces. Stunning, immersive, atmospheric music, written and performed specifically for churches, chapels, and historic venues. Buy tickets – Steve Knightley – Zoom

The next Cornish Zoom Folk Club will be the following Saturday, 28th March.

A reminder that the Wadebridge Folk Club will gather at 7pm tonight Thursday 19th March, in the barn at the National Trust cafe  Pentire, new New Polzeath. Come along with a song, or a poem, a story, or other entertainment (juggling, magic tricks? who knows) or just to watch and listen. As usual there will be hot drinks and cake provided included in the £5 entrance. Bring your own cold drinks

That’s all I’ve got time for this week, hope to see you on Sunday night

All the best

Nigel
