Hattie Briggs played Dreamers Folk last Sunday and impressed with a number of self-penned songs played with a clean & clear guitar style and sung with exceptional vocals that have seen her picking up many awards in the last few years. Hattie was supported on the night by her friend and cellist Jasmine Scott-Neal, who added beautiful vocal harmony and that distinctive cello accompaniment that adds so much emotion to a song, ably demonstrated in “Autumn Leaves”.

At a stroke Hattie achieved something that we have been trying to do for years and that is to encourage younger audience members to sample what the Folk world has to offer. There were several in the audience below the age of 30 and that is to be encouraged if live music venues are to survive in this ever changing world. Thanks to all who came on the night, also to our wonderful floor singers and to Pip, our MC, for stringing it all together so well.
