DESCRIPTION:Meneely & van Sante present an evening of music as lively as it is eclectic\, with songs culled from maritime traditions old and new mixed with contemporary ballads about the ways of today’s world. \n\n\n\nJanie Meneely and Rob van Sante began coalescing as a duo in 2015\, with Rob offering support on Janie’s solo gigs whenever he was in the Washington\, D.C. area\, where she was living at the time. As a prolific songwriter of all things Chesapeake\, Janie was a well-known figure around the mid-Atlantic waterfront\, but it was Rob’s brilliant guitar work and harmony singing that really pushed her work into the greater realm of the traditional folk world where Rob had already made his mark.

DESCRIPTION:Milton Hide\, Jim Tipler and Jo Church from East Sussex\, weave eloquent\, well-crafted story-based songs. Jim’s guitar and Jo’s clarinet blend perfectly with the duo’s pure vocal harmonies. Their music has been described by critics as “reminiscent of the Moody Blues” (Living Tradition)\, “a touch of Fleetwood Mac” and “vintage Steeleye” (Spiral Earth). \n\n\n\nTheir debut album\, ‘Temperature’s Rising’ was recorded during lockdown in 2020 and released in Spring 2021. DESCRIPTION:25 years ago someone lamented the passing of Pipers Folk Club\, remembering those wonderful nights of music with John the Fish & Brenda Wootton at Botallack\, St.Buryan & the Western Hotel in Penzance. It was Marion & John Heath who said ” Do something about it then!” and St.Ives Folk Club was born at the Tyringham Arms\, near St.Ives. \n\n\n\nThrough many venue changes and many wonderful guest performances and a name change\, we have survived and arrived to where we are today. The plan is to have a nostalgic evening looking back over the years and remembering the songs and the singers that brought us here. There will be cake!

Jeff & Elaine’s joy of sharing songs from their home area of Gloucestershire was infectious.
