DESCRIPTION:  \n \nMaverick Magazine \nThe folk duo\, made up of Kip Winter and Dave Wilson\, are renowned for being hard working musicians who excel out on the road. The forced time away from touring and live music though\, has allowed them to excel in their songwriting and in the studio too. \nKip’s vocals especially have a rawness to them\, as together they deliver a record full of character. The stand-out track is ‘What Would Johnny Cash Do Now?’ Sonically it’s a bit of a departure from the rest of the record\, the up-tempo track is full of energy and charisma\, a lovely nod to the legend. In contrast\, ‘Pity Me’ a typical folk tune\, is stripped back and sombre showcasing the versatility of the record. The pair’s voices together create a unique but pleasing texture. \nThe conclusion comes in the form of ‘Once More for the Old Times’ which is a beautifully written track\, played on an acoustic guitar\, Wilson takes the lead as he sings in a heartfelt tone\, creating a picture in the listeners mind. A lovely end to a lovely record.

He has had a big influence on the Folk scene and most recently award winning English Folk Musician Jim Moray has quoted Nick as an influence singing two songs from his repertoire and including one {Seven Long Years} on his latest album ‘Skulk’\nNick is an acknowledged expert on West Country Folk Songs and together with his wife Mally \,has collected over 300 songs in Dorset\, and also found singers in Lancashire and Essex\nHe has also made recordings of Gypsy Singers some of which have been included on Topic Records series ’The Voice of the People’\nNick Dow has returned to the Folk Scene after a long absence. He spent several years building up his business of Signwriting and building and restoring Gypsy Wagons.\nNick has lived an amazing life. From a rough childhood in South London\, he has lived on his wits since he left home at eighteen; travelling half way round the world\, living on the road with the Travelling Folk and learning their songs\, working as a TV and Film Extra\, broadcaster\, Narrowboat painter\, writer\, Folklorist\, Guitar Teacher and General Dealer.\nEvery song Nick sings has a story attached to it\, and his gigs are as informative as they are entertaining.\nNick and Mally now live happily in East Lancashire surrounded by Moorland and Fells.

DESCRIPTION:[fvplayer id=”14″] \nGeoff is a leading exponent of the rare Crane Duet concertina. He performs self-written and West Country songs\, English\, Irish and Scottish folk and other music as varied as Jimmie Rodgers\,the Louvin Brothers\, Richard Thompson  and Randy Newman. He’s also one of the few to play 1920’s/ 30’s jazz on an authentic 1920’s instrument. \nHis smooth tenor vocals and unique concertina accompaniment have won him plaudits and fans over the years but it has only been since retiring from a long career as a Fleet Street Journalist that Geoff has truly spread his wings musically. \n2017 sees the release of Geoff’s debut album ‘After All These Years’. Each year we have reciprocal visits\, Dreamers Folk to Bodmin in the Spring and Bodmin to Dreamers Folk in the Autumn. He plays regularly at festivals\, folk clubs\, house concerts and other venues throughout Australia. \nPerformers of the calibre of Eric Bogle\, Joe Dolce\, Greg Champion\, Blackwood and a host of other Australian and international performers have Bruce Watson songs in their repertoire. \nBruce has received the Declan Affley Memorial Songwriting Award at the National Folk Festival for the song Amazon\, which has been recorded by Eric Bogle and many other Australian and overseas artists. \nBruce has a keen sense of the absurdities of life. Nothing is sacred\, but many things are precious. A concern for people\, the environment\, reconciliation and for life’s mysteries and ironies runs through his songs. His serious songs are both moving and challenging\, and he is not afraid to tackle the hard issues. \nThe humour can be sharp – or at times just plain silly.
