Mark Richards – Solo Instrumental Guitar and a Few Good Songs
In recent years he has enjoyed stepping out from the world of background vocals supporting others and is now sprinkling his set with well-chosen Folk and Americana songs. Along with classics by John Prine and James Taylor, he’ll introduce you to some lesser-known great songs by Jason Isbell, May Erlewine and John Smith.
Mark is undoubtedly a guitar fanatic and music lover. From his home in Cornwall he has many years of gigging experience in bands and now uses his studio at home in Perranporth to record himself and others. His first solo album “The Guitar A to Z” featured original instrumentals inspired by his guitar heroes.
His second album is nearing completion and will include an eclectic mix of his own compositions on solo acoustic guitar as well as blues, rock, funk and the 633 squadron theme!
His solo live show includes relaxing, cheerful and thought provoking self-penned acoustic fingerstyle guitar instrumentals, plus some classic tunes from English folk and Celtic music. Here’s a short showreel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btvdIMIDcbc
