Welcome to this week’s Dreamers Newsletter
We had a good evening last week with guests Foxes Fair, lots of humour and variety, all supported by our regulars. Good to see Jonathan back with a long list of upcoming attractions – there should be flyers available soon with the full list including the return of Rum and Shrub and also a visit from our friends from Bodmin Folk Club. That used to be a regular feature each year but had to be suspended during the pandemic so it’s great to be able to re-start. No doubt we’ll be going there before too long as well. This coming Sunday we have another Singers Night which should be great if recent standards continue.
The June session of the Cornish Zoom Folk Club was a great evening with lots of performers and performers from Canada, USA, New Zealand and Spain as well as all over the UK. It was particularly nice to see Nick Dow (a past guest at Dreamers, of course) who has had some health problems but is now well enough to perform online. The next session is on 27th July.
For those who don’t want to stay over at Sidmouth (as well as those who do), there’s a great programme of day time events to be found at Buy tickets for Ham Daytime Concerts – Sidmouth 2024 – Ham Daytime Concerts – The Ham Marquee (tickettailor.com). This features (among others) Karine Polwart, the Melrose Quartet with the Wilsons, Paul Downes and Phil Beer, Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham to name but a few.
Just eight weeks to go until the start of the Cornwall Folk Festival in Wadebridge. The Festival features just about all types of music that fall loosely under the folk banner – trad, country, blues, folk-rock and much more. They have put together a play list on Spotify of some of the acts appearing at the FAR with a couple from Shanty Street here, with thirteen tracks from Blue Badgers, The Stowes, Finley Bray, Holligan’s Rule and more: It’s at

The Live to Your Living Room site has gone quiet over the summer but returns in September with regular shows including Ashley Hutchings and Steve Knightley to look forward to.
That’s all for now this week. Hope to see you at the Club on Sunday evening
All the best
